Moving out of Clarkson

Clarkson is one of the older parts of west Mississauga, and it moves differently than a new subdivision. Clarkson Village along the Lakeshore Road corridor is tight: narrow driveways, mature trees, street parking that fills fast. Meadowvale runs from the heritage streets of Meadowvale Village to the townhouse pockets around Lake Aquitaine and Meadowvale Town Centre. Most of the housing stock dates to the late 1970s and 1980s: finished basements, deep crawl spaces and garages that take longer to clear than owners expect.

Truck access off Derry Road and Winston Churchill Boulevard is straightforward, and being minutes from the 401 keeps travel time low on moves to Milton, Burlington and Oakville. Moves from Clarkson, Erin Mills or Meadowvale to Burlington are billed hourly: crew and truck, plus travel time. A two-bedroom condo typically runs four to six hours; a three or four-bedroom house, seven to ten. There is no long-distance rate on this route.

What moves the number is volume and access: stairs, elevator waits, a full basement, a long carry to the door. Packing is quoted separately.
